Level seven - The Yavi'ny Starship

secrets: one

Part one: THE BEGINNINGS

ENTRANCE: Oh, our Lara put some of her clothes off! From the hologram machine go forward to the first intersection. Go to the left, then again left around the corner. In front of the covered button on the wall ahead, go to the right and enter the control room. As you enter, go to the right and press a button on the computer console. This will open the other door at the first intersection. So go back there and enter the room beyond. Follow the corridor to a big room.

TRANSLUCENT LEDGES: As you enter, save your game. If you miss any of the following jumps, Lara will fall into a shallow pool below and break her bones. After every successful jump, save again. Walk to the edge and turn to the right. You have to jump onto the nearest translucent ledge, but since it is behind a translucent panel, you have to employ a banana-jump. Hop back, take a running jump with a curve to the right, to land on the first ledge. Turn to the left and take a running jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up and take a running jump with Action to the third ledge. Turn left and jump onto the last ledge. From there turn to face the high ledge with a doorway to the left. Walk backwards to the edge, turn diagonally to the right and jump onto that ledge. Enter the room, go left and take Anti-gravity Belt from the pedestal. Return to the room with translucent ledges.

Walk to the edge and turn diagonally to the right. Take a running jump with a curve to the right to grab the first ledge. Turn left and take a standing jump onto the second ledge which is lower. Take a running jump to grab the next ledge and pull up. Save your game here and turn left to face the entrance. Take a running jump with a curve to the right (but perform this curve after the translucent panel, not before it) to land in front of the entrance. Return back to the intersection, go forward then turn left towards the covered button. Enter the control room to the right, and go to the right towards the glass walkway.

LASERS: Before you go up the glass walkway, turn left and find some Raygun ammo in an alcove to the left of the walkway. Then go up the walkway and turn left on the upper level. Those lasers here are now off and you can use the switch there to raise the cover on that button. Return down the walkway to the control room, leave it and go to the button. Press it to open the door opposite and enter to the room on the other side. Wait for the second part of the level to load.

Second Part: ENGINEERING

MAIN HALL: You are at the Main Hall with glass walkways. Go to the upper level and enter the only open door (east). In the corners you'll find two glass boxes. Pull them out of their alcoves, climb on top of them and use two buttons on the wall to open the door to the right (south). Go through and turn left. The green rays are safe, so go through them. Turn right and watch the cycle of three deadly red lasers in this hallway. When they are off, jump across the pad of the first laser. Repeat the same with the two next lasers. Go right around the corner and take Yagull Activation Key from the pedestal. Return via the lasers to the room with two movable glass boxes, leave it and go down the walkways. On the opposite side of the lower level (west) there is a panel where you can use the key you've just picked up. Use it, then go to the opposite side of the lower level (east) and press now uncovered button to the right of the door, to release the Yagull, your friend. Let Yagull open a door to the left (north) for you, and go through.

TRICLON CORE ROOM: Go to the right, follow the corridor and open the door to the left. Kill two flying robots. The door to the left are closed. The room ahead is blocked with lasers, so the only way to go from here at this moment is to the right (east). As you enter the next hallway, go left and up the glass ramp. Follow the upper walkway to the end and pick up the first Navigation Disk from the pedestal. Then jump into the pool next to the walkway. Swim towards the bottom, then through the twisted tunnel, and into the pool between the triclon core room. You can surface under the glass floor above.

Straight ahead, on the side opposite the entrance to the pool, is a door, but bars prevent you from going through. To the right (north) there is a small passage behind two supporting pillars. Go behind the pillars and locate two underwater doors (use flares if you can't find them) and open them both. Swim through both doors and use two underwater ceiling levers to open the bars on the door in the main pool. Swim through the tunnel and turn left at the intersection. Swim up through either shaft in the left corners and climb out of the water.

Go to the other side of the room, enter the doorway (north) and take Raygun ammo from the pedestal to the left. Proceed to the right, then down the glass ramp. Enter the doorway to the left, take LMP from the pedestal to the right, and pull the lever on a machine to the left. This will remove the deadly lasers in the Triclon Core room. Proceed through the doorway to the right of the lever (south), push the button to open the door and return back to the Triclon Core room. Go to the left and enter the room once protected with lasers.

You can now approach three colored prisms in the alcoves in this room. They are movable, as you can guess. Pull them out of their alcoves, then through the doorway and into the Triclon Core room. You have to place them onto three metal tiles on the glass floor. However, each prism has its corresponding tile. If you look up to the top of the Triclon Core, you'll see colored lights, indicating which prism goes to that side. So, the blue prism goes to the right of the Triclon Core (west), the yellow prism goes to the left of the Triclon Core (east) and the red prism goes to the tile in front of the Triclon Core (north). When each prism is placed correctly, its tile will raise. Placing all three prisms will open the bars on the doorway nearby.

Go through the doorway to the left (east), turn left and go up the glass ramp. Follow the walkway to the opening to the right, where the bars once prevented you from entering. Go to the right around the corner, ignore the doorway to the right at this stage, proceed to the end and turn left around the corner. Follow the walkway to a lever to the right and flip it to activate the Triclon Core. In the following flyby you'll see the light refracted through three prisms and indicating where one recharged Triclon Cell is. Turn to face the Core, go left and follow the walkway all the way back to the opening you ignored earlier (now it's on your left). Enter, approach the machine on the wall and take first Recharged Triclon Cell. Leave this room, go left and back to the walkway. Go left and down the glass ramp, turn left and return to the Triclon Core room to the right.

Cross the Core room and enter the doorway straight ahead (west). Go to the right and enter the room with the glass ramp. Don't go up the ramp, but into the room to the right. Take the second Recharged Triclon Cell from the machine and return back to the Triclon Core room. Leave through the doorway to the right (south), turn right and go back to the Main Hall.

The button you saw opening in the previous flyby is on the upper level, north. Push it to open the door next to it. Another Yagull will come out and open the door to the left for you. Enter and go to the end. Push the button on the wall to open timed door behind you. Immediately roll and sprint forward, turn right and enter the doorway which is, hopefully, still open.

WIND ROOM: Go up the stairs and kill one robot flying around. Go to the left and take a look at the wall to the left. The bright blue line on the wall is actually a crack. Jump diagonally to grab it, shimmy to the right and pull up into the opening. Take a running jump to grab the pole, swing around and jump into the alcove on the opposite wall. Enter the room beyond and use the lever on the machine to activate the ledges in the wind room. The ledges will raise and lower alternately, which means that you have to time your jumps from one ledge to another and to be very fast and careful at the same time. Go back to the opening, safety drop to the ledge below, which won't lower, and save your game.

Actually, this is not so hard as it sounds. Use standing jumps and side flips, and count the seconds in your head. Also, don't start jumping from the edge of the safe ledge. Instead, take two steps back, sidestep all the way to the left, and then take a standing jump onto the first ledge. Wait for approximately one second and jump onto the second, and so on. The most difficult part is when you get to the ledges in the corner. Once on the ledge in the first corner, just use side flips to the right to reach the ledge in the second corner. From there back flip onto the next ledge and time the last back flip onto the last ledge. Immediately side flip to the right into the tunnel, or turn to the right and jump forward into the tunnel (the first method is easier if you landed far enough from the opening so Lara has space to perform the side flip). If you happen to go through this jump sequence in the first try (which I doubt), then save your game in the tunnel and jump onto the floor of the wind room, just to see one interesting death of Lara.

Go down the stairs to the control room. Enter the room to the left, take the second Teleport Room Disk from the pedestal, return to the control room and go through the doorway to the left. Go up the ramps to a button and press it to open the door. Go through to the intersection. Go to the right and use the disk in the disk reader on the wall to the left. Enter the room here and step into the teleporter to finish this part of the level.

Part three: HYDROPONICS

Open the door with the button, go outside to the intersection and turn right. Turn right around the corner, then up the ramp to the left, and enter the hallway with glass floor. First go to the left and take LMP from the pedestal. Proceed to the other side of the hallway, turn right around the corner, go down the ramp and make a U-turn to the left at the bottom. Follow the corridor to a huge aquarium.

AQUARIUM: As you enter, first go to the right, around the aquarium, and approach the shiny beam on the platform. Press Action and Up arrow key, and Lara will be carried upwards. Back flip to detach from the beam. Go to the aquarium and dive in (the fish are harmless). Find the Hydroponic Gardens key on the bottom, climb out of the water and approach the fountain. Draw your guns, kneel and shoot the wired orb above the fountain. Return back to the lower level using the beam, go all the way around the aquarium and open the door of the Hydroponic Gardens using the key in the reader.

HYDROPONIC GARDENS: Go to the far right corner and shoot another wired orb above the fountain. Leave through the doorway to the left, proceed to the intersection and turn right. Go up another climbing beam and enter the room with a square suspended platform. Jump on it, and use two diagonal jumps to get to the other side. Jump onto the ledge on the opposite side of the room, enter the room to the right and shoot the third wired orb. Return via the suspended platform and the beam to the lower level, and back to the intersection. Take the hallway straight ahead and enter the big room with a pool and huge plants. Find two more wired orbs in far left and far right corners and shoot them. Some flies will attack, but don't waste ammo on them. A platform will raise from the water in the left side of the pool. Take a running jump to land on it, then another one to land in the tunnel ahead, and take Universal Starship Key from the pedestal to the left.

Ignore the stairs to the right for now. Jump back to the raised platform, then back to the ledge with plants. Go to the right, leave the room, turn left and go back to the beam. Climb the upper level. Straight ahead is a closed door. Jump over the suspended platform to the other side like you did before, and use the universal key in the reader to the left. The door on the other side opens. Return to them and go through. Take the third Recharged Triclon Cell from the machine to the left and return back to the room with the pool and raised platform. This time jump into the opening and go down the stairs to the right. Go to the end of the corridor and climb up another (very long) beam.

HYPER-SLEEP CHAMBER: Go down the hall and enter the room to the right. You'll see some cells with sleeping aliens inside. To the right you'll see a broken cell. Push/pull it onto the marked tile to open a trapdoor where the broken cell stood before. Save your game before dropping through this opening. Drop through onto the first short ramp, slide onto the second, and approximately half way down jump to grab the bars on the ceiling. Monkey swing to the end, release the grab and press Action again to grab the edge of an alcove. Pull up and press the button to raise a ledge in the toxic pool below. Slide backwards and through the opening, to land on this ledge.

UPPER LEVEL GARDEN: Jump over to the floor of the room and press the button in the alcove to open the door next to it. Don't go through yet, but find a reader next to the closed door, and open it with universal key. In the small room beyond flip the lever to raise the cover on a button elsewhere. Return back to the room with toxic pool and leave through the door to the right. Go left and again up that long beam. Once on the upper level, follow the hallway towards a small pool and enter the garden to the left.

As you enter, look to the left: there's a closed door there. Remember it and go forward to find the button you uncovered earlier. Save your game before pressing it to avoid backtracking if you accidentally drop on the lower level. Press the button to open the timed door. Immediately roll, sprint forward, steer to the right to get on the bridge leading to the door, and sprint around the tree that prevents you from running to the door directly. Quickly go through before the door closes. If you fail, return to the button and try again.

Enter the garden to the left and go into the pool. Find Water Bubble in the pool between orange lilies (or whatever the name of the plant is). Go up the glass ramp and turn right at the intersection. Enter the alcove to the left, push the button, roll and sprint into the room straight ahead before the timed door closes. Go up the glass ramp, turn right and go to the end of the ledge. Go to the right, where the ledge is covered with dirt, drop into water and swim under this ledge to find Fertilizer on the bottom of the pool. Climb out of the water, enter the side room and use water bubble and fertilizer on two pedestals, and watch some roots growing out of the ceiling in the following flyby. Return back to the ledge with dirt, jump up and grab the roots above. Use them as monkey climb and go to the other side, where you will find the second Navigation disk on the pedestal. Save your game here; if you jump into water, you may trigger a potential bug where Lara won't climb out of the water. Either reload the save or return via the monkey climb to the other side.

Return to the lower level, press the button on the wall twice to open the door and go out to the main glass ramp. Go towards the button, then to the left and up the ramp to the doorway. Go through and to the right, then into the room to the right, and flip a lever there to turn off the lasers in the other room. There's a reader on the wall to the left, but it is useless for now, so return back to the glass ramp, and down to the lower level. Approach the lasers, wait for them to turn off and sprint through to the other side. Go left and up the glass ramp, turn right, then left and enter a small room to the left. Press a button here to open a trapdoor nearby. Ignore the flies, drop through the trapdoor and take Hydroponic Garden Key from the ground.

Climb back up, return to the lasers, go through carefully and again up the main glass ramp, then to the left and through the door. Enter the small room with the lever and the disk reader. Use the disk to open the garden nearby. As you leave this small room, the entrance to the garden is ahead and a bit to the right. Enter, go to the other side and through the doorway, turn left at the intersection and take the fourth Recharged Triclon Cell from the machine. Return to the intersection and go straight forward towards the climbable beam. Jump to grab it and climb down.

Press the button in the alcove to open the bars and go through. Go straight ahead towards the pedestal and turn left in front of it. Follow the corridor back to the hall with teleporters, enter the room to the right, step into the teleporter and watch a flyby showing the Yagull opening another door for you. Use the button on the wall to open the door and go through. Turn left and return back to the Main Hall.

THE MAIN HALL (again): As you enter the Main Hall, go to the other side and enter the room with movable glass blocks (east). The door to the left are open, so go in and claim Secret #15: the Galaxy. Return back to the Main Hall, go left and through the door the Yagull opened for you (south). Use the beam here to climb to the Bridge.

THE BRIDGE: Enter the first big room, cross to the other side and enter the Bridge. Go to the other side and enter the Bridge. In the far left corner you'll find Screwdriver on the pedestal. In the near left corner you'll find a button on the wall. Press it to raise the covers on the Triclon cell receptacles in the previous room. Return there, place four Triclon cells in their receptacles, to open the door to the right (east). Enter the Galaxy Plotting room.

It's hard to give directions here, and you see yourself why. First go to the right or left around the pillar and enter a dark room with stars and planets in 3D. Find the Earth (the blue static planet to the left or north) and place one navigation disk on it. Roll and go to the other side, to another stationery blue planet (south) and place the second navigation disk on it. In the short flyby you'll see a platform raising elsewhere. Now you need to find the entrance/exit, which is to the left (west). Be patient, you'll find it eventually.

Go back to first big room and go to the Bridge. Enter the room to the right, climb on the platfom you've just raised, climb to the second, and then onto the glass ledge above. Turn around and combine Cai'xia stone with the screwdriver to get the Yaktar. Use it on the contraption in front of you. In the following flyby you'll see a door opening on the other side of the bridge. Safety drop to the floor, return to the bridge and go straight ahead to the room you've just opened. Take the Control Centre Crystal from the pedestal, return to the bridge, approach the console with the alien and place this crystal on the rod in front of the alien. You will wake him up and have another dialogue with him.

The alien will thank Lara for helping him and fixing his ship. He can now return to his home planet. Lara asks him how he will leave this place, since his ship is all embedded in ice and rock. The alien explains that he will dematerialize the ship and rematerialize the rock and ice, and that no-one will ever know that the ship was ever here. She promises to keep his secret and bids him farewell. At the end the creature says that she can find a village to the east.

In the last flyby we see Lara sliding down the mountain in the night. She turns back to see the ship flying away, and disappears in the night, as usual. I know you would like to play this great game more, but unfortunately, this is THE END. Well done!
